MyGenTM Residential System
MyGenerationTM - Utility Interactive SystemA growing number of homeowners worldwide are expressing a desire for "clean electricity" and independence from imported oil and gas. As the restructuring of the U.S. electric utility industry accelerates and electric service monopolies open up to competition, many new markets will emerge for value-added, environmentally sustainable solar electric systems and services.
Kyocera designs and builds solar electric power systems that have everything you need to generate your own electricity. Our utility interactive systems are installed on the roofs of thousands of grid-connected buildings. These rooftop systems not only produce electricity for households, but also allow surplus energy to be sold back to the utility.
The MyGenTM Grid-tie Photovoltaic (PV) Power System consists of photovoltaic modules, a direct current to alternating current (DC-to-AC) power conversion device, DC wiring and protection, AC wiring and protection, lightning protection, component mounting and mechanical support.
The MyGenTM system is designed for use on residential and small commercial buildings of typical construction. Photovoltaic mounting is rafter-secured for structural compliance with most local building codes. MyGenTM systems comply with the following regulations:
- 2008 National Electrical Code (NEC-2008)
- IEEE Std 929-2000-Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Recommended Practices for Utility Interface of Photovoltaic (PV) Systems
- UL 1741-Underwriters Laboratories Standard for Safety-Static Inverters and Charge Controllers for Use in Photovoltaic Power Systems
- ICBO 2000-International Building Code.
